Just Between Friends Consignment Sale and How I Save a Ton on Children's Clothes

Sometimes I think whoever said that being nice doesn't get you places was doing it wrong. Seriously. How I found out about Just Between Friends was by just being nice to someone. (Aren't you lucky that I am just telling you about it?) A woman with a little girl and a baby were walking in front of me and she dropped something (I don't remember what). Well I helped her and then we started talking and I commented on how cute her daughters shoes were and then she told me all about this amazing place that she bought all of her children's clothes from. She told me that they were a consignment group that took slightly used or new clothes, baby products, books, and toys from parents and sold them at one big weekend sale. Then she told me they were actually hosting one of their sales that weekend. When I asked her where, it turns out that the place was literally 5 minutes from my house! I went that time and I have gone to almost every event they have had since and for good reason.

Children, while totally adorable, are also messy little beast. My daughter has had days where it is just like mess is attracted to her clean shirt like a magnet! We go through a lot of clothes at this house and I learned very early on that some you just can not save. Dealing with children, you also learn that they outgrow clothing FAST. It seems like every time you blink they have gone up a size and thus need an entirely new clothing regimen. Then, last but not least, you have the seasons changing on you all the time. When you are buying completely new wardrobes at this rate it can get very expensive very quickly. Especially if you are like me and love brands like Baby Gap and Gymboree where 1 outfit can easily run you $50.

So what are the prices like? Well, they vary. Each outfit's price is determined by the seller, but overall I would say that most of these slightly used clothes are in great condition and are reasonably priced. Especially if you go on the last day of the sale when everything without a special full-price star is 50% off (which is usually the day I go). I bought a pair of Oshkosh tennis shoes that were never used for $2. You just can not beat prices like that on children's shoes in my experience. Anyways, my last haul was mostly of winter clothes and I spent $48 for 13 outfits and two pairs of shoes. All of these outfits were Gymboree or Old Navy with the exception of 1. Remember how I said those brands would normally cost about $50 for 1 outfit? Here are 13 outfits I got for under that PLUS two pairs of shoes. One those pairs being a really nice set of winter boots. :D

Cute right?! I just love all of these outfits and also knowing that I bought these clothes from a mom who can now turn around and buy new clothes for her little one after selling these is totally awesome! I have not used the selling side of Just Between Friends but it seems like an awesome way to get rid of your child's old clothes and make some money while you do it!

If you are interested in saving a ton of money on children's clothes, toys, baby supplies, and books (who isn't) then check them out and see if they are having a sale near you any time soon. They do tend to be around the beginning of fall and spring though so you may have to keep checking.

This is also a great place to buy small toys, outfits, books, and other small things to go in Christmas Shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child! This is one of my favorite charity organizations and is very near and dear to my heart. I will be doing a post about this wonderful organization and volunteer opportunity closer to Christmas time. If you would like to know more information about it before hand then please check out this link to their website:   http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ :D
