Day Camping at Strong Tower Ranch

I had a much longer post planned for tonight but Shutterfly was having a free pictures deal  (that ended today of course, because I am a top notch procrastinator) and my husband and I wanted to play Civilization 5. Basically I was distracted and now only have a limited amount of time to write. :p

This post is about Strong Tower Ranch. If you would like more info about them here is a link to their website: http://www.strongtowerranch.org/about-us/

This is the lake at Strong Tower Ranch. My family and I spent a day here last weekend with my American Heritage Girls Troop. I volunteer as one of the Pi/Pa leaders and last year I was a Pathfinder leader. For those of you who do not know, American Heritage Girls is basically the Christian based form of Girl Scouts. We visited just for the day even though they do allow camping (would have been an awesome place to camp). The lake there was beautiful! They also had Kayaks and Paddle boats that you could take out on it. The girls and my family certainly took advantage! I fell out of my kayak twice and had to swim to the dock in the picture above to get back in. I think everyone enjoyed watching me try to get back in my kayak. :p

They also had an indoor/outdoor kitchen area that we were able to rent for our day camp. I was told that they have horse back riding and many trails around too. We only took advantage of the lake area and the hay rides. I love horses so maybe next year I will see about riding one!
It was such a beautiful day! Later in the evening we took hay rides around the Ranch. After hay rides we had a bonfire and you know we had s'mores!
This is my friend Carla and I posing by the bonfire for a quick picture.

I would definitely recommend using this Ranch for any group camping that you may be doing! :D
